– ABOUT ME, MONA NAEM PHOTOGRAPHY-
Hello, let me tell you about me; I am Mona Naem, a Family and wedding photographer based in North London, Whetstone and Totteridge. I started my photography business when my son turned one (14 years ago) and love to photograph using natural light and genuine expressions.
My main aim is to capture emotions in photos by having a real laugh with the couples and families. I really am a people person and certainly love meeting and chatting! If you are looking for a straight to the point/no chit chat kinda a photographer then I’m probably not your jam!!
My background is teaching and so I combined my 2 passions and began teaching DSLR and phone photography to adults and children. I ABSOLUTELY love preparing, planning, teaching and delivering the courses and workshops to individuals and groups.

Being a teacher does make me hungry for information so I always arrange a pre-shoot consultation. This way I get to know the couple and families beforehand and aim to get the best out of them on the day. Each photo session is unique and try to make it as relaxed and fun for everyone (yes even the grooms and husbands!).
Some random facts about me …..
- I was born in the Middle East (Kuwait) and lived there till I was nearly 14 years old! I use to have a very strong American accent but now its almost gone (well I do still roll my R’s)
- My dad taught me how to swim in the sea. I remember drifting off and then had to be rescued by my older sister!
- You are looking at a huge New Kids on the Block fan. My sisters and cousins made a tribute band. We were highly in demand for private family functions but sadly broke up when we had to study for exams.
- As you already know watching films is one of my favourite things to do and have been known to quote some of my favourite films word to word. I often google the ending so I can fully understand and appreciate the plot line (I’ve been told that’s very annoying).
- I enjoy a good TV binge, I watched all 7 episodes of the White Lotus season 2 one sunny Sunday!
- I love to take photos everywhere I go (my phone or actual camera). I’ve been known as that friend who creates memories!
- Known to be a night owl and when I get in the zone I work till I start hearing the early rising birds begin to sing!
- After years of taking my children to music lessons/exams I decided to take up piano in 2023. I will not be performing in public anytime soon but may be brave enough to share my journey one day!
